I would of course much rather that you came out in person...but as the music business is such a numbers game...it would really help U.S. out to have a sold out show or at least some a nice looking number on a piece of paper. We are trying to get gigs out of state and this gig being over at over 100 would give us a strong pimp hand!
We are going to do a really fun interactive workshop the next day...We will be going over many of the stories that I have held dear to me about the early days of Funkadelic and the metamorphoses that shaped the world thereafter.
We did the the workshop at the Bel Mar Lab and it was a really FUN time! This time we will end with a jam....something easy yet stanky and funky.....
This is unprecedented because Swallow Hill Music Association has for so long been held down to some strict guidelines about what and what is NOT FOLK...

The skiin' ain't quite over...
Come on out and celebrate while the snow is in full effect! This weekend, April 18 + 19, we play at one of our favorite partyin' places, the Snake River Saloon in Keystone. It's all leading up to one of our favorite times of the year, 4/20...oh yeah!
We're also excited to come back to one of our favorite clubs, the Belly Up in Aspen, on Friday, April 25. It's a free, all ages show at a club with amazing sound, lighting and atmosphere. We always have a great time there so we hope you can join U.S.More details about all our upcoming (not to mention past) shows can be found by browsing our online calendar at us-pipe.com/gigs.cfm.
The mixing has started on our upcoming full length release, United Sound Pipe. If all goes well we should be releasing it by summer's end (if not sooner). We'll be releasing more information very soon...keep your eyes peeled!

What you don’t remember is makin’ a mistake and goin’ to muthafuckin’ PRISON!!!!
How many of us adults have done THE most FUCKED up shit that you could think of, go to court and go home????? That was then, this is now....OUR young CHILDREN are being COMMITED to, GROUP HOMES, FOSTER HOMES, BOOT CAMPS, MEDICAL CLINICS, JAILS, AND WORST OF ALL....PRISON!!!!! (Hi, I’m 15 and I’m in prison!!!!!) What the FUCKKKKK!!!!
I know cats who have done the most FUCKED UP, WILD SHIT, THAT STEVEN KING COULDN’T EVEN THINK OF, and our young wonderful children are populating PRISONS! THANK YOU MY WONDERFUL AMERICAN GOVERNMENT!!!
Our prison system is filled with, brotha’s, latino’s, and TEENAGERS!!!! WHAT THE FUCK!!!! (You really don’t care, gotta get ready to go to the MUTHAFUCKIN’ CLUB!) What really sucks, is that the FEMALES WHO GO CLUBBIN’....MAJORITY OF THEIR CHILDREN ARE, "LOKKKED UP"! Don’t believe me? I have proof!!! (jus’ ask me) They are using OUR kids to, TEST, MARKET, AND O.K ,THESE NEW DRUGS THAT THE F.D.A NEVER EVEN APPROVED ON CHILDREN!!! (Do you know where your kids are!!!,,,better yet, do you know what the GOVERNMENT is doing to YOUR KIDS!!!!) OUT’A SIGHT OUTA’ MIND!!!! These facilties that are housing YOUR children, are using prescription drugs to so-called "MODIFY", their BEHAVIOR!!

This means that your brain is not fully developed to decipher, when, where, how, and why you child failed! So this means that your child, at the time of any specific crime was not capable of understanding his, or her actions, because, their INTERNAL facilities were not totally in FULL capacity as an adult!!!

We’re helping raise funds for a great cause this THURSDAY, APRIL 10 at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom, Birambye International.
Come help U.S. help them in planning, developing and building a sustainable eco-lodge with the Children’s Village Kigarama Orphanage. The project will provide the economic self-sufficiency that will nurture the intellectual, spiritual, social and physical growth of the children, while supporting the harmonic stewardship of the environment.

Howdy folks....I just wanna send out a little UP date on the spirit that is in the flesh that you call Citrus or maybe Chris...or maybe even something else.
this little self has been running around doing this and that and the other thing. Things that most of you know about or think you do anyway. it has been playin so much guitar that it’s fingers are getting shorter and flat-er. LOL....
okay...enough of the zentalk..
I lost a guitar! Yeah that was the big I. Not one of my loves mind you...just a good working instrument that was great for teaching with. a drag and a wake up call....WAKE UP CITTY CIT CIT!
i have been doing wonderful work with U.S. Pipe....
We are finally getting this recording thing happening...with SO MUCH HELP! We have recorded a damn fine album and are getting ready to mix it. It is pretty simple...Not a bunch of guests and extra this or that in it. i laid all the guitar overdubs for ten songs in about an hour and a half or so. There will be mistakes and such..but whatever..it REPRESENTS the sound in a great way. Like Shider always told me anyway..."it’s all sketch’s man". We have a thick as a brick sound on this album. I can’t wait to let it out there!
It’s been really getting us tighter and tighter too....the tape don’t lie and we have all learned a lot about what each of us is doing and how our individual parts effect each other. I am proud of the band.
i have been teaching like a madman at Swallow hill! a Jimi Hendrix class...a guitar logic class and some basic intro to guitar stuff too...LOVING IT...it is just so sweet to see the lightbulb go on over a mugz head....to see them excited cuz they are learning and growing...and to give people the tools to express themselves...The classes that i am teaching are TEACHING ME...not only new stuff..but stuff that i maybe know..but didn’t REALIZE...so i am just REALIZING stuff...tryin to anyway..to make them real.
Next session is Led Zep. afta dat...Hindustani rags and exotic scales..etc etc etc...
Been LOVING my new crib...but still don’t have all the crap out of the old one...my gawd...I have filled a dumpster a few times with all the baggage and old stuff I been carrying...like from the very start of my time on earth!
Getting ready to get this tooth fixed as well.....making an appointment monday!!!!!
i am gonna work a date for George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic....they are gonna be in Copper Mtn this weekend and need sum Citrafunk! So i am gonna give em some...i don’t know what’s gonna happen...just gonna have a nice day and do what i do.
Haven’t spent as much time with my Grandmother as I would like to...gotta work on that one...

Handy "Best Blues Instrumentalist - Piano" award nominee, Henry Butler knows no limitations. Although blinded by glaucoma since birth, Butler is also a world class photographer with his work displayed at exhibitions throughout the United States. Playing piano since the age of six, Butler is a master of musical diversity. Combining the percussive jazz piano playing of McCoy Tyner and the New Orleans style playing of Professor Longhair through his classically trained wizardry, Butler continues to craft a sound uniquely his own. A rich amalgam of jazz, Caribbean, classical, pop, blues and R&B influences, his music is as excitingly eclectic as that of his New Orleans birthplace.
